About

Abdul Wasea Baig — finance, audit and ERP under one roof.

Who I am

Manager Accounts, Taxation & IT Advisory with 15+ years across accounts, taxation, auditing, ERP implementation and import-export finance, based in Karachi. Currently Internal Auditor & ERP Implementation Lead at a textile manufacturer.

Why it matters for tanneries

Audit readiness is a records problem as much as a plant problem. My background in internal controls, costing, GRN and inventory control, period-close discipline and ERP implementation (Odoo, ERPNext) is what turns scattered logs into audit evidence.

Founder, KLBAIG

KLBAIG — ERPNext | Odoo | Advisory — is my digital-transformation advisory practice, offering ERP implementation, taxation and corporate advisory.

Services

From first gap review to a working system.

01

Readiness Gap Review

Walk-through of your records and processes against the applicable LWG audit requirements, with a prioritised action list.

02

Process Mapping

Raw hide receiving to export dispatch: who records what, where, and how it can be evidenced.

03

ERPNext / Odoo Implementation

Tannery-specific configuration, data migration and user training — so the system holds your traceability, chemical and production records.

04

Environmental Records

Water, energy, waste and ETP logging structures with reports your team can actually maintain.

05

Internal Audit & Mock Audits

Periodic internal audits of controls and documentation so findings are caught before the external auditor arrives.

06

Training

Hands-on training for production, store, quality and compliance teams on record-keeping and ERP use.

Independence: this is an independent advisory practice. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the Leather Working Group, and it is not an LWG-approved auditor. Certification is decided only through LWG audits by approved audit companies. ERP software supports compliance preparation but does not guarantee any rating.

Pakistan

LWG and the Pakistani leather industry.

Pakistan is in the directory

Pakistan appears as a country in the official LWG certified supplier search, alongside Bangladesh, India, China, Italy, Türkiye and others. Search by country, site type, rating, leather type or tannage.

Example listing

Pakistan Global Tannery, Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi — shown as Gold rated (Protocol 7.2.4, category C: raw hide to finished leather), certified since May 2025 with expiry in May 2027, as seen on the directory on 13 Oct 2026.

Ratings and expiry dates change — always verify on the official directory.

Where the hubs are

Karachi's Korangi Industrial Area is home to a number of tanneries listed in the directory; other leather clusters in Pakistan include Sialkot and Kasur.

Why it matters now

Brand members including adidas, Burberry, Clarks, IKEA, Inditex, LVMH, Marks & Spencer, Nike and Zalando are LWG members, and certification is a common requirement for supplying them.

Latest from LWG: in July 2026 LWG reported new proposals to exclude leather from the EU Deforestation Regulation, and it continues work on a global traceability framework for beef and leather and a public consultation on chain of custody and due diligence. Check the LWG news page for current positions.
